1960 Aston Martin DB4

the all-new DB4 series was in production and introduced for sale, along with a new aluminum dual overhead camshaft inline six cylinder engine which was lighter and more advanced than the broadly similar Jaguar unit.

That same year, Prince Philip of Britain gave Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd., his Royal Warrant of Appointment. That bestowed the right to display his coat of arms on the cars, and for the company letterheads to read “Motorcar Manufacturers by Appointment to His Royal Highness.”

This is a fresh rotisserie restoration of an original, numbers matching Aston Martin DB4 Series II. A total of only 351 Series Two cars were fabricated between January 1960 and April 1961. In these cars, the bonnet (hood) is hinged at the front, which was a new feature. Overdrive was first offered at extra cost on the Series Two cars. This particular car was originally Desert White with red interior and was later repainted a non-period metallic gold. The recent restoration brought it back to a period correct color of black pearl. The DB4 and DB5 are recognized as the most iconic touring Aston Martins and are associated with the James Bond 007 movies.
